Stray Dogs Riding Moscow Subway

Moscow the Russian capital is home to an estimated 30,000 stray dogs. Many live in parks, on construction site and vacant lots. the smarter ones have learned to use and navigate the vast subway system of Moscow. The know which trains to take, for how long to stay on the train and at what station to get off in order to beg for food in their favorite spots.

Here are a few pictures. I will get back with a more complete article later. The story of these dogs was reported first years ago. Bit it is still an amazing story of survival, acquired skills and the often underestimated intelligence of animals.

This one sets the scene for the next picture.

And here we go riding the subway . . .

and napping on a warm train.
